PDF under 1MB

Works in browser · local-first

Shrink a PDF for a form that will not accept anything over 1MB, and see whether it passed.

Updated

The PDF is read and rewritten locally in this browser. Your original file is not uploaded and is never changed.

Target and rewrite mode

Safe cleanup rewrites the PDF structure without rasterising pages. It is safest for text PDFs, but scanned/photo PDFs may not shrink much.

How it works

  1. Choose a PDF and review original size and page count.
  2. Keep the 1MB target or enter another official limit from 200KB to 5000KB.
  3. Create the smaller copy, check whether it passed, then download it.

Questions

Does PDF under 1MB upload my file to Rupeka?

No. The live tool reads and processes the selected file in your browser. Rupeka does not need a server upload, account, or database for this result.

Can I use the result for an official form?

Use it as a preparation aid and always check the exact size, format, and instructions shown on the official portal before submission.

Will my original PDF or images be changed?

No. The tool creates a new downloadable file in your browser and leaves every selected original untouched.

Should I check the downloaded PDF?

Yes. Open the result and review every page, number, watermark, crop, and file-size rule before official submission or sharing.

Will every PDF become smaller than 1MB?

No. Text/vector PDFs may shrink with a clean rewrite, but scanned PDFs with embedded photos often need image-level recompression. Rupeka shows pass or fail instead of claiming false success.

What should I do if the result is still over the target?

Use fewer pages, crop large margins, create a compact image PDF from source images, or check whether the official portal allows a higher limit.

Can official portals still reject the PDF?

Yes. Portals may also check page size, password protection, readability, document category, and exact upload rules.

Passing the selected KB target does not guarantee portal acceptance. Check readability, page count, password rules, document category, and the exact official upload limit before submission.Read the full disclaimer.
